Andre-Miller
Andre Lloyd Miller (born March 19, 1976 in Los Angeles, California) is an American professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA.
Miller played collegiately at the University of Utah for four years. His performance in 1998, including a very rare tournament triple double, lead the Utes to the NCAA championship game where they lost to Kentucky. At Utah, Miller played with Keith Van Horn and Michael Doleac who also play in the NBA.
Miller was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 8th overall pick of the 1999 NBA Draft, and averaged 11.1 points and 5.8 assists per game in his rookie year. He upped both averages in each of his next two seasons with the Cavs. On July 30, 2002 he was traded, along with Bryant Stith, to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Darius Miles and Harold Jamison. He spent only one year with the Clippers before finding his way to the Nuggets. After signing a multiyear contract with the Denver Nuggets in 2003, Miller, as point guard, has played an integral role in the Nuggets' resurgence. A very durable player, Miller has only missed three games in the seven years he spent in the league.
He currently resides in El Dorado Hills, a suburb of Sacramento, California. Miller graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology in 1998 and began work on a Master's in Sociology before being drafted into the NBA.
On December 19, 2006, he was traded by the Nuggets to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a trade for guard Allen Iverson.
